To minimize risk and ensure we can continue to remain open and serve our members, we have made the decision to close GSCU lobbies and move to Drive-up only service, with branch appointments as needed, effective Monday, November 16th.
Yes. International transactions can be blocked using the “International” location control. Transactions will be limited to the United States. Also, for additional protection of our members debit cards, GSCU does internally block certain international countries.
Yes, CardControl works with the most recent mobile operating software as well as two past generations of Apple and Android phones.
No, CardControl currently only supports debit cards.
Names are displayed as last name then first name (e.g. SMITH JOHN.)
Yes, the Card Details screen displays the Card Status.
You need this information: the card number, address, zip code, expiration date, and CVV/CVC code. Secondary authentication may include: security token sent in an email, last 4 digits of the social security number, or a PIN’d transaction amount performed in the past 72 hours.
Yes, cardholders can register multiple cards within a single CardControl app. Additional cards can be added by accessing the Menu option and then selecting Manager Portfolio and then Add card.
If the card number is new, then the user must “add” the new card number to the user’s profile. In addition, the user may delete the old card by accessing the Menu option and then selecting Manage Portfolio.
No, the location controls are applied to in-store transactions only; however GSCU does internally block certain international countries that cannot be overridden within the CardControl app.
The control settings take effect as soon as the “Updating information” message in the app stops.
CardControl alerts are sent as push notifications to the phone. The alerts also display under “Messages” in the CardControl app.
No, previously authorized recurrent payments will continue to process and will bypass the CardControl edit checks.
No, the alerts are consolidated into one message. For example, if the transaction has violated threshold and location settings then you will only receive one alert and not multiple alerts.
Yes, the app shows the last 50 card-based transactions posted within the last 30 days.
The My Location controls and alerts will check to ensure the merchant location is within a five (5) mile radius of the device set as “primary” within CardControl. These controls impact “card present” transactions only, therefore internet transactions are not impacted.
CardControl will ignore location information that is more than one hour old. Therefore, if the phone is off for more than one hour “My Location” controls will not take effect, and the transaction will not be denied on the basis of the old location information.
CardControl performs a proximity check at the granularity of zip code or city, so if the merchant is close to home then the transactions will still be processed.
CardControl only shows the transactions that are performed with your GSCU Visa Debit Card. It does not show non-debit card transactions, such as in person teller transactions, electronic withdrawals or check withdrawals on an account. To see detailed account history, log into your Mobile Banking app.
The “Total Spend” amount is calculated from the cumulative spending for a specific card and displays on the back of that card image. At the end of the month, the total resets to zero (0). Refunds are deducted from the total.
Go to “Settings” and select the Do Not Disturb option, which will limit alerts during the time that is set.
Transactions that are completed electronically on the internet are known as ecommerce.
Alerts are always sent for the following types of transactions; denied transactions, deposits/refunds, when a shared user changes a control setting and card status changes.
Yes, go to “Manager Portfolio” and uncheck the card(s) you would like to unsubscribe. Once a cardholder unsubscribes, all previously set alerts and controls are no longer in effect.
